Like a kitten that has just lapped up a giant bowl of warm milk, our nation is living fat and sassy in a politically correct drunken stupor. It is almost laughable at the things we become “offended” over. We went from living life boldly and courageously to living hunkered over, afraid to speak and looking for the boogie man around the corner who might call us hateful or stupid.
I think it started in the pews where Americans were fed politically correct sermons year after year. We became soft. Throughout the years, we nearly tripped over ourselves in our hurry to get the newest self-help book in the bookstores and eventually those books replaced the Word of God.
Our politicians sat in our pews for years and grew used to the “Christians” feeding their pocketbooks and electing them year after year. They have become weak-kneed, spineless cowards who hate confrontational issues. They didn’t know what to do when they were hit by the liberal left.
You see, the liberal progressive left is not weak-kneed or spineless. They’ve been spending their time at the “progressive gym” working out. They’ve also been at the same bookstores we have, but their choice of reading material has been “Saul Alinsky,” “Art of War,” and “After the Ball”. They’ve been in class learning how to “transform” our nation. The left has learned the intricacies of economic terrorism and fascism. They know how to bully and get their way. They know we have been drinking politically correct milk for years because they are the milkman, and they are ready. They are not bound by truth or honesty, so they can fight hard.
The left was ready for the Indiana politicians. I think even they were surprised when all they had to do to get their way with our weak leadership was say BOO!
Moving over to Louisiana:
The Louisiana Left was also prepared. They took notes as they watched Indiana fall to her knees. They were ready for the fight. Businesses and corporate thugs lined up and were on call for the right moment. Louisiana had some tougher nuts to crack though. They had a GOP whose roots were deeper than those in Indiana… for a while anyway. They vowed a fight. The fight didn’t last very long as the nation watched the GOP cave yesterday morning by a vote of 10:2 defeating religious freedom.
Louisiana Republican lawmakers sided with Democrats, big business and LGBT activists to kill a bill that would have protected individuals and religious institutions opposed to same-sex marriage.
In doing so, lawmakers defied the objections of an overwhelming majority of voters and handed Gov. Bobby Jindal a significant defeat for his legislative agenda. Read the rest of the story.
It looked pretty dim for religious liberty in Louisiana yesterday, until Governor Bobby Jindal entered the picture. Unlike Indiana’s governor, Bobby Jindal looked evil in the eye and said… OH NO YOU DON’T. Two hours after the Louisiana legislature voted down the religious freedom bill, Governor Jindal signed an executive order protecting religious freedom.
Wow, where do you find courage like that these days?
He said this in regards to religious freedom and the attack of Louisiana:
I’ll also say this to these corporations who have already told me and Louisiana they don’t want us to pass our own bill protecting the rights of individuals and businesses who support the traditional view of marriage, don’t even waste your breath trying to bully the Governor of Louisiana, we are going to come down on the side of the first amendment.
I was reading 1 Samuel 17 this morning, and I nearly came out of my chair as I read the words of the story of David and Goliath. As Goliath was taunting David, daring him to come after him… mocking him, David said….
“You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. 47 All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.” 1 Samuel 17
You know the rest of the story…. he did just that. David didn’t listen to Saul as he tried to tell him how to kill Goliath. Saul tried to protect David by dressing him in his heavy armor. (v38) That tactic didn’t work for David. The heavy armor weighed him down. The same thing happens today when the political pundits, (the Karl Roves, the GOP establishment type strategists, the paid lobbyists) try to tell us our guys are not electable, fight the battle this way… sit at the table with us and do it our way.
NO! David was singular focused. He killed Goliath with one stone, ignoring the sideline coaches. He did it God’s way.
Maybe it’s time for us to stop listening to the political pundits who say in order to get things done, we have to do it their way which is to elect their people and fight the battle the politically correct way. Maybe it’s time we do it God’s way. Maybe it’s time we stop caring about political parties and super majorities and vote for the men who will stand in the face of economic terrorism just as Governor Bobby Jindal did, and say…. NO NO NO.
Here is the awesome part of the story. The governor of Louisiana didn’t just bark at the media, he followed through after the big GOP cave, knowing he had been charged with a responsibility to protect the people and the liberties given by God. He wrote an executive order protecting religious freedom in that state.
In Louisiana, the state should not be able to take adverse action against a person for their belief in traditional marriage,” Jindal said. “That’s why I’m issuing an Executive Order to prevent the state from discriminating against people, charities and family-owned businesses with deeply held religious beliefs that marriage is between one man and one woman. ~Governor Bobby Jindal
Oh how I wish we had seen this kind of boldness, courage and leadership here in the state of Indiana. Louisiana is facing the same economic terrorism that Indiana did. The only difference is, they have a man of courage leading that state. Governor Jindal was right when he said,
America did not create Religious Liberty; Religious Liberty created America. Without religious liberty rights no freedom of association, no freedom of speech.
Let’s unite and find the courage to face the liberal bullies head on and move once again toward what our founders gave their blood for.
I can promise you this. I will no longer work for a candidate just because he/she is a Republican and we like to be a supermajority in charge of the legislative agenda. I will wear my shoe leather out for men and women who are unashamed and boldly fight for the issues that are vital to the survival of this country. I will wear my shoe leather out for men of courage like Bobby Jindal!
